The longest left point in Chile wraps around a wide sand bay at Pichilemu, delivering walls that appear to run forever but come with a significant catch. SW swells are the engine here, ideally head-high to well overhead, with an E wind holding the face clean and low tide coaxing the raciest sections out near the tip of the point. The wave is accessible enough for beginners on small days, but advanced surfers will find long stretches of rolling, soft shoulder between the punchy sections. Bottom is sand over point. Season runs February through September, peaking in austral winter. The honest warning: this wave is famous for looking incredible from the cliff and delivering a long, mushy paddle-fest in practice, so pack a longboard or fish unless real swell is in the water. Dawn patrol keeps the crowd manageable before the after-school rush fills the lineup.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Moderate crowds most days, occasionally heavier after school when local teenagers stack the lineup. Dawn patrol is consistently the quietest window. The vibe is generally welcoming, though younger locals can get territorial during good swells. Respect the queue, call your waves, and there's rarely an issue.

Access & Facilities

Park at the tip of the point for straightforward access to the lineup. The town of Pichilemu is directly behind the break, so food, water, and board rentals are all within walking distance. Water quality is fair and degrades after heavy rain. No notable hazards beyond boredom on flat or crowded days.

Nearby Alternatives

When Pichilemu is closing out or too crowded, the region around Punta de Lobos to the south holds bigger, more powerful swells and is worth checking when real swell hits. Smaller coves north of town can offer cleaner, less crowded conditions on smaller days.
