Localism pressure is low, but the sheer volume of beginners on weekends makes it genuinely difficult to surf without constant interruptions. Dawn patrol or weekday mornings are your best bet for any space.
Public and private parking is available on the south side of the beach. Close to the town of Con Con and Reñaca, so food, water, and rentals are easy to find nearby. The river mouth brings current and, critically, water quality issues from industrial discharge upriver. Avoid after heavy rain or when the river is running strong.
If the river mouth is blown out or the current is running hard, Reñaca to the south offers similar beach break peaks with slightly more variety. Further up the coast, more exposed stretches pick up swell with less river contamination risk.
