Punta Roquitas punches above its weight as Lima's most accessible beachbreak, sitting at the base of the Costa Verde cliffs near the San Isidro side of Muelle Uno. S to SW swell at 2-8ft with a NE offshore wind is the target, and lower tides tend to sharpen the peaks and add push. The wave draws a dense urban crowd year-round given its location directly off the Circuito de Playas de la Costa Verde, a six-lane highway that puts parking right on the doorstep. It suits beginners through solid intermediates, though shortboarders and bodyboarders dominate when conditions step up. Bottom: beach. Season: April through October. Consistency: high. Watch the shorebreak boulders on the way in and out, and know that once sets start breaking outside the jetty ends, the paddle-out turns long and draining.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Expect a crowd almost every session. Easy car access off the Costa Verde highway means Lima's surf population concentrates here, particularly on weekends. No heavy localism reported, but a dense mix of skill levels keeps the lineup competitive and sometimes chaotic. Dawn patrol during the week is your best move for breathing room.

Access & Facilities

Drive the Circuito de Playas de la Costa Verde and park directly above the beach near Muelle Uno. No facilities on site. Water quality is a real concern: commercial pollution and floating debris are common. Check conditions before paddling out if you're sensitive to water quality. Bring your own water and wax.

Nearby Alternatives

Tres Picos, just to the north, offers a similar beachbreak experience when Punta Roquitas is blown out or maxed. Further south, La Herradura is Lima's best pointbreak option when larger S to SW swell is running and you want length rather than punchy peaks.
