That said, the Playgrounds anchorage is one of the busiest zones in the Mentawais, so an unexpected lay day can bring company. Go at dawn if you want it to yourself.
Access is by boat only. There is no parking, no facilities, and no shore access worth considering. You are operating from a charter vessel or a surf camp in the Playgrounds zone. Water quality has no flagged concerns. The main hazard is the submerged reef itself, so keep awareness of water depth on smaller swells when the reef is shallower.
When Losmen Right is too small or the swell angle is off, the Playgrounds cluster offers numerous options nearby. Nipussi provides a consistent, workable wave for intermediate surfers, and Pirates offers a more accessible right for those stepping back from heavier lineups.
