Crowd & Localism
The lineup is quiet outside July and August, when summer crowds fill the beach. Spring and autumn sessions typically see few surfers. No notable localism reported, but expect company during the school holiday window.
A rivermouth beachbreak on Corsica's north coast, tucked into the edge of the Agriates desert about 15km east of L'Ile Rousse. W to NW swell in the 1-4ft range hits the sandbars best, with offshore winds from the SE keeping faces clean. At size it turns punishing, with strong rips and lines of whitewash that catch out unprepared surfers. Beginners and intermediates will find the most fun in smaller, cleaner conditions when the sandbars cooperate. Bottom: sand, rivermouth. Season: spring and autumn. Consistency: medium. The rips here are a genuine hazard, so read the water before paddling out, especially near the rivermouth channel.

From Calvi, take the main road toward Bastia past L'Ile Rousse and Lozari, then follow signs for the site de l'Ostriconi. A car park is available at road level, a short trail leads down to the beach. No facilities on site. Stock up before arriving.
When the Mistral is blowing too hard for Ostriconi, Lozari further south tends to pick up more rideable waves. The Balagne coastline holds additional spots worth exploring when swell direction and wind align.
