A sheltered beachbreak on the French Riviera's eastern Côte d'Azur, Eze picks up E and SE swells that most nearby spots miss entirely, sitting in a position that stays offshore in Mistral conditions. It works best on E to S swell from 2-6ft with a NW wind keeping it clean. The wave itself is below average in quality, slopey and short, but it becomes one of the only functional options in the region when the Mistral is howling. Intermediate surfers will find it manageable, but crowds gather quickly given how few alternatives exist. Bottom: beach with rocks. Season: autumn and winter. Consistency: low. Bring a board you don't mind bumping into rocks, and temper expectations on wave quality.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The spot draws regular crowds, partly because functional surf days on the eastern Riviera are rare and surfers converge when conditions align. Expect a busy lineup on clean days. No specific localism warnings in the sources, but competition for the short, slopey peaks is real.

Access & Facilities

A car park is available, but no facilities onsite. The eastern Riviera is urban and well-connected, so food and water are close. No reported water quality concerns or major hazards, though scattered rocks in the break warrant attention.

Nearby Alternatives

When Eze is flat or blown out, Vintimille just across the Italian border is the go-to option for the eastern sector. Further west, the Cap d'Antibes area offers a longer wave on the right swell, while the spots around Cannes can work with W winds pushing lefts at Plage du Midi.
