A rusting ship's bow poking out of the reef is your landmark for one of Nusa Lembongan's most consistent right-handers, accessible only by boat from Sanur. SW to W swell at 3-10ft with E trade winds offshore is the target, and getting the tide right is everything: mid tide on spring cycles, running a touch higher on neaps. The wave suits intermediates and above, though the lineup regularly draws day-trippers, failed-pro types, and local surfers who can make things uncomfortable if you're not reading the room. Bottom: submerged reef, sharp and shallow on the inside. Season: April through October. Consistency: high when swell is running. That rusting scrap metal on the reef is not decorative: a wipeout on the inside section can end your trip early, so wear a helmet if you're going deep.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The lineup gets crowded, particularly with boat-loads of day surfers from Bali who arrive on the push of mid tide, same window you want. Local tension has been documented and drop-in disputes escalate here. Keep a cool head, wait your turn, and don't paddle straight to the peak on arrival. Dawn sessions before the boats arrive give you the best ratio of waves to people.

Access & Facilities

Boat transfer from Sanur is the only option. Operators including Perama, Scoot, and Rocky Fast Cruises run regularly at varying price points and crossing times. There is no parking and no facilities at the break itself. Nusa Lembongan village has losmen, warungs, and board ding repair. Boat transfers back to Bali stop running in the late afternoon, so track your departure time.

Nearby Alternatives

If Shipwrecks is too low or maxed out, Lacerations is a harder-core right a short distance away that holds bigger swell and offers serious tube time for experienced surfers. Playgrounds, also on Lembongan, is widely considered the more relaxed, user-friendly option with a mellower crowd dynamic.
