A half-mile offshore from Fort DeRussy Beach Park, Four's sits in Waikiki's classic reef lineup, sandwiched between Three's and Kaiser's. South to SW swell is the engine here, working best from head-high to double-overhead on a medium tide with calm or NE-to-E offshore winds. The wave delivers both lefts and rights off a coral reef, and when a solid S swell lines up, the occasional barrel is on offer. All skill levels show up, but when it's pumping, the advanced crew dominates the peak. Bottom: reef. Season: April through October. Consistency: reliable during summer south swells. Deeper lateral sections in the reef provide cleaner exits from the impact zone, which is worth knowing before you paddle out into the sets. The half-mile paddle from the beach is the real commitment here, so check the swell direction carefully before making the call.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Expect a packed lineup whenever waves are waist-high or bigger. All types show up here, from learners on foamies to experienced shortboarders hunting the barrel sections. The local vibe is generally manageable if you stay respectful and don't snake. Dawn patrol gives the best shot at space before the crowd builds through mid-morning.

Access & Facilities

Paddle out from Fort DeRussy Beach Park in front of the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. It's an easy beach access but a long paddle, roughly a half-mile offshore. The channel near Kaiser's is your best reference point. Waikiki has full amenities nearby: food, water, and board rentals along the strip. Water quality is generally clean, though Oahu's densely populated south shore means post-rain periods can degrade conditions.

Nearby Alternatives

If Four's is maxed out or the crowd is unworkable, Three's to the west or Kaiser's across the channel offer similar reef setups with their own crowd dynamics. On smaller days, the inner Waikiki breaks closer to shore are a lower-commitment alternative.
