On bigger NE pulses, fit, strong surfers will be working hard on the paddle out, and currents demand real attention. Bottom: reef and sand. Season: fall through spring, with hurricane swells adding occasional size. Consistency: medium. The same beachside infrastructure as nearby Jensen Beach sits here, but this stretch tends to hold slightly better shape when Jensen is blown out or flat. Watch the inside reef on the way in.

Stuart Rocks offers better-organized form on the same swell window when this spot is gutless or blown. Jensen Beach runs similar conditions to the south and is worth a look if the Public Beach is maxed out or too crowded.
