Long lefts peel off a reef-and-sand bottom at Stuart Public Beach, a mid-Florida Atlantic Coast break that punches above its modest reputation when a solid NE groundswell arrives. NE swell is the primary driver, with WNW offshore wind the ideal complement, low to mid-tide is when the reef structures organize the waves into walls that occasionally hollow out on the inside. Size range runs head-high to double overhead on the best days, though smaller days open the lineup to a wide range of abilities. On bigger NE pulses, fit, strong surfers will be working hard on the paddle out, and currents demand real attention. Bottom: reef and sand. Season: fall through spring, with hurricane swells adding occasional size. Consistency: medium. The same beachside infrastructure as nearby Jensen Beach sits here, but this stretch tends to hold slightly better shape when Jensen is blown out or flat. Watch the inside reef on the way in.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The lineup is described as welcoming with no meaningful localism. Crowd levels run light to moderate on average days. Bigger NE swells thin the crowd naturally as the paddle becomes genuinely taxing. Standard lineup courtesy applies.

Access & Facilities

Easy beach access with a car park and lifeguard on duty. Vehicle break-ins have been reported at the lot, so leave nothing visible in your car. Clean ocean water with no chronic pollution concerns. Stuart Rocks is a short distance away and worth checking on the same run.

Nearby Alternatives

Stuart Rocks offers better-organized form on the same swell window when this spot is gutless or blown. Jensen Beach runs similar conditions to the south and is worth a look if the Public Beach is maxed out or too crowded.
