One of South Florida's most consistent stretches, this mile-long sand and rock break near Lake Worth competes with the pier as the go-to spot when swell hits the region. NE to NNE ground swells in the waist-to-overhead range are the sweet spot, spiraling into punchy left barrels on the inside. Rare S swells flip the script and spin up quality rights. SE windswells build rideable ramps when nothing else is running. The outside reef fires occasionally but most sessions are inside reform waves that can't hold much size beyond overhead. Sand shifts constantly, so peaks move around and different swells focus energy on different sections. The main peak sits straight out from the flagpole itself. Crowds are moderate and generally manageable given the spread of peaks, but expect competition on pumping NE swells. Bottom: sand and rock. Season: fall through spring plus hurricane swell windows. Consistency: high for South Florida. Bring a few board options since the shifting peaks reward adaptability.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Localism is relaxed for South Florida, and the mile-long stretch distributes surfers across multiple peaks. It gets genuinely competitive during solid NE swells when the better peaks are obvious to everyone. Dawn patrol on those days makes sense. Read the sand and pick a peak away from the main cluster if you want space.

Access & Facilities

Easy access with paid parking nearby. Water quality is clean. Standard South Florida hazards apply: sharks, jellyfish, and sea lice are present. Sea lice season typically runs warmer months, so a rash vest is worth packing year-round.

Nearby Alternatives

Lake Worth Pier sits close and is the other benchmark for South Florida consistency, worth checking before or after a session here. On bigger NE swells, scan other exposed piers and inlets along the Palm Beach County coast for alternative peaks and less competition.
