A sand-filled reef break on South Hutchinson Island, Blind Creek Park stands out as the only high-tide option along a stretch of Florida's Treasure Coast otherwise dominated by low-tide setups. Big N to NE swells push walls way out back over a buried reef, and on incoming or high tide the form can be surprisingly clean for Florida. SSW to WNW winds are ideal offshore. Currents run hard to the south, especially when N-NW wind combines with an outgoing tide, so commit to a session only when conditions align. The lineup stays mellow with minimal localism, but the wave is fickle and needs genuine size to show its best face. Bottom: reef and sand. Season: fall through spring, with hurricane swells the jackpot. Consistency: low to moderate. Always worth a check on the drive south to Fletcher's or Stuart Rocks if those are the real destination.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The lineup runs genuinely mellow with essentially no localism pressure. The wave's fickle nature keeps crowds thin even when it fires. All skill levels can paddle out in small surf, but big swells push this to experts only given the paddle demand and ripping southward current.

Access & Facilities

Park at Blind Creek Park off A1A on South Hutchinson Island. The paddle can be a grind given the shoulder burn rating, so pack water. Watch the reef on the way out and the current on the way back in. Water quality is clean open ocean.

Nearby Alternatives

When Blind Creek is flat or the tide is wrong, continue south to Fletcher's Beach or Stuart Rocks, the standout reef on South Hutchinson Island. Fort Pierce North Jetty is worth checking on the same run, particularly on smaller swells that won't reach Blind Creek's outer reef.
