Short, punchy lefts peel off dead coral outcroppings on Singer Island, Florida, with a secondary right mixed in when conditions align. NNE to NE groundswells and NE windchop both activate the reef, with WNW winds keeping it clean. Low tide is the sweet spot, though windswell peaks push juice through the tidal range. The two coral points flank the lifeguard tower: the north point fires more consistently, while the south point can produce better-shaped walls when the swell angle is right. Waist to overhead is the ideal size window before the waves close out. Intermediate to expert surfers will get the most from these quick lefts, and the crowd stays manageable outside of peak N-swell days. Bottom: dead coral reef with sandy patches. Season: fall through spring, plus hurricane swells. Consistency: medium. Come early on N swells before the onshore sets in, or you'll be paddling through blown-out mush by mid-morning.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Localism is essentially nonexistent here. The lineup stays light to moderate when multiple peaks are working. On a true N swell, the lefts can get busy, but nothing like the pressure at nearby Pump House or Reef Road. Dawn patrol on N-swell mornings avoids both the crowd and the inevitable afternoon onshore chop.

Access & Facilities

Easy beach access with a dedicated car park. A lifeguard tower marks the central reference point between the two reef peaks. Water quality is clean. Watch for normal Florida sea life: sharks, jellyfish, and sea lice. No serious access complications.

Nearby Alternatives

When Ocean Reef is maxed out or blown out, Pump House and Reef Road to the south handle more size and offer longer rides. Jupiter Inlet South Jetty to the north provides a protected inside peak on smaller swells when the open beach isn't delivering.
