A sandy reef shorebreak sitting close to the beach on Florida's Atlantic coast, NE 14th Ct. Runs on short-period windswell out of the NNE, and does its best work on a low-to-incoming tide when the banks have some shape. WNW winds hold the face up. At waist-to-head high it produces punchy little rights and lefts with quick sections, nothing that will redefine your surfing but enough to get your turns in. Forecasts rate this as pretty average to below average overall. All ability levels can handle it since nothing here is threatening, and the crowd is genuinely mellow because most locals who know better are usually somewhere else. Bottom: sandy reef with beach break character. Season: fall through spring. Consistency: moderate when NNE windswell is running. Water is surprisingly clean for such a populated stretch of coast, so no real health concerns getting in.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The lineup is almost always mellow. Regulars who have options tend to surf elsewhere, which keeps NE 14th Ct. Uncrowded most sessions. Localism is non-existent in any meaningful sense. Weekday mornings are the calmest, though beach access parking tightens up on busy summer days.

Access & Facilities

Parking gets difficult on high-traffic beach days, so arrive early or mid-week. No significant hazards reported: no exposed reef, no strong rips noted. Water quality is clean for an urban Florida beach. Bring water and sunscreen since facilities are minimal at the break itself.

Nearby Alternatives

When NE 14th Ct. Is flat or blown out, the broader Fort Lauderdale stretch has other beach peaks that pick up the same NNE swell. Sebastian Inlet to the north is the region's go-to when a proper groundswell arrives and you want more performance wave quality.
