A sand-bottom jetty break on Florida's Palm Beach County coast, Jupiter Inlet's south side is one of the few quality rights in South Florida, bending like a point on bigger E-NE swells and wrapping toward the jetty with hollow sections. Best from low to incoming tide on a NNE-NE groundswell with W winds, in the 3-8ft range. At smaller sizes the peak reads like a weak A-frame, but when a real swell fills in the right comes alive and rewards surfers willing to paddle well outside between the jetty and the lifeguard tower. Two sandbars sit parallel between the Inlet and Juno Beach Pier, producing long walls when conditions cooperate. A decent left breaks off the main outside peak as well. Suitable for all skill levels, but the crowd is consistent and the vibe runs intimidating enough that better surfers tend to control the outside peak. Bottom: sand. Season: fall through spring, hurricane swell. Consistency: high. Watch the outgoing tide hard: a strong ebb can flush you out of the lineup fast, so paddle out along the jetty, catch a wave early, walk back, and repeat.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

This is one of Palm Beach County's benchmark breaks and it draws accordingly. Crowds are a constant. The local vibe rates intimidating, though reports suggest it has mellowed from its heavier past. Give the better surfers room on the outside peak, read the lineup before paddling out, and keep your head down. If the Inlet is packed, there are peaks to the south worth checking.

Access & Facilities

Park and paddle. A carpark is available, and a lifeguard is on duty. The most reliable paddle-out runs along the jetty itself. Mind the currents: outgoing tide creates a strong pull toward open water and makes holding position on the peak feel like paddling upriver. Water quality is generally clean but occasional lagoon water flushes through from the Inlet.

Nearby Alternatives

When Jupiter Inlet is maxed out or too crowded, the sandbars running south toward Juno Beach Pier offer multiple peaks that spread the crowd. On N or NE swells, options further south in Palm Beach County are worth checking for less pressure.
