The most consistent beachbreak in north Palm Beach County, Juno Pier produces sandbars on both sides of a 1,100ft structure that funnels NE and NNE groundswells into lined-up, workable peaks. Best on incoming tide with a WNW offshore, the wave runs from an outside section through a connecting mid, finishing on a steep, fast inside. Hurricane and nor'easter swells can push double-overhead lefts firing the full length of the pier. SE windchops deliver fun inside nuggets, especially on the north side. It suits all levels when waist-high to head-high, but the lineup is reliably busy and ultra-crowded on weekends. Bottom: sand. Season: fall through spring. Consistency: high. The Surfrider Foundation brokered surfing rights alongside the pier, so follow the lifeguards' instructions without argument to keep the access intact for everyone.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

This is the go-to spot for the entire north Palm Beach County region, so expect a crowd any time there's rideable swell. Weekends push to ultra-crowded. Localism is manageable if you read the room, stay patient, and respect the lifeguard protocols. Dawn patrol on a weekday is the obvious move here.

Access & Facilities

Free roadside meters and a large car park make this a simple check. Lifeguards are on duty and will designate paddle-out channels next to the pier during larger swells. Water is generally clean, though occasional lagoon runoff occurs after heavy rain.

Nearby Alternatives

When Juno is walled out or maxed, the 7-mile stretch north to Jupiter Inlet has beachbreak peaks with better access and fewer bodies, including the well-regarded break known as Corners. Jupiter Inlet South Jetty picks up a nice inside peak on smaller swells and offers an outside right when the swell builds.
