Low to incoming tide is the move, particularly when swell is big enough to load up on the outside coquina reef. It suits beginners through intermediates, though the reef underneath demands at least basic ocean awareness. The lineup sees moderate crowd pressure year-round, and while localism is comparatively mild for the Treasure Coast, the Treasure Coast in general runs territorial. Bottom: mixed reef and sand. One genuine strength here is the break's ability to make something rideable out of messy windchop that would close out cleaner sand-only beaches nearby.
Expect a moderate crowd whenever the surf is rideable. Jensen Beach is reputedly the least localized spot on the Treasure Coast, but that is relative. When Jensen is too small or closed out, Stuart Rocks to the south offers more defined reef structure on the same NE swell. Walton Rocks to the north is another option on bigger NE pulses and tends to hold more size.
