A coastal lake outflow creates a reliable sandbar at Inlet Beach Pier, tucked along Florida's Emerald Coast between Destin and Panama City Beach. SE through SSW swells are the ticket, with N to ENE winds keeping faces clean. Low-to-incoming tide is generally best, and the wave works from waist-high up to overhead across most of the year. All skill levels can get something here, and the crowd count is about as low as you'll find on this stretch of the Gulf Coast. Bottom: sand. Season: fall through spring, plus hurricane swells. Consistency: moderate, swell-dependent. Plan on a 10-minute walk down the beach from the parking area near the townhouse development at road's end, and note that summer parking enforcement is serious.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Crowd pressure here is about as low as it gets on the Florida Panhandle. The awkward access and limited parking naturally filter the lineup. The vibe is welcoming and mellow even when there are others out. Dawn patrol removes any remaining variable.

Access & Facilities

Park near the townhouse development at the end of the residential road accessed off Highway 98 just past where C30-A rejoins. Walk east along the beach roughly 10 minutes to the pier. No facilities on site. Summer months bring active tow-zone enforcement on nearby streets, so check signage carefully. The water along this section of the Panhandle is famously clean.

Nearby Alternatives

Grayton Beach, a few miles west on C30-A, uses the same lake outflow principle and is worth checking when Inlet Beach isn't cooperating. Blue Mountain Beach and Seaside area peaks along 30-A offer additional sand bottom options depending on swell angle.
