A low-tide-dependent beach break a few miles north of Sebastian Inlet, Bonsteel Park trades consistency for calm. ENE to E swell lights it up best, with SW to W winds keeping faces clean, and it tends to work from waist high up to a couple feet overhead at low tide. The crowd is genuinely thin here because Sebastian Inlet and Spanish House pull surfers away, making it a reasonable option when those spots are packed. Bottom: sand. Season: fall through spring, plus hurricane swells. Consistency: moderate, tide-dependent. Treat it as a swell gauge: if Bonsteel is showing size, the Inlet is probably firing, so use it to calibrate before committing to a longer drive south.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

One of the mellower lineups on the Brevard coast. Proximity to Sebastian Inlet means most surfers skip Bonsteel entirely, leaving it uncrowded on most days. Vibe is welcoming and low-pressure. Respect the shoreline fishers sharing the beach.

Access & Facilities

Public parking lot makes access straightforward. Water quality is consistently clean. Watch for shoreline fishers casting into the surf zone, and be shark-aware, as this stretch of coast sees activity.

Nearby Alternatives

When Bonsteel is flat or too small, Sebastian Inlet a few miles south is the obvious move, offering one of the most consistent and powerful waves on Florida's east coast. Spanish House sits between the two and is worth checking on an incoming swell before the Inlet gets too crowded.
