A mellow beach break on the outskirts of Trujillo's Moche district, Las Delicias sits on a compact semi-private beach that sees almost no one on weekdays and a handful of surfers on weekends. SW groundswells push in year-round, with the wave coming alive at under 1m and holding shape up to 2m-plus on bigger days. Offshore winds from the E and SE clean it up, and the break works across all tides without strong preference. Beginners and improvers are the natural fit here: the power is ordinary, rides are short most days but can stretch to 100m on a good swell, and the vibe in the water is relaxed and social. Bottom: sand. Season: year-round, busiest January to February. Consistency: moderate. Rocky sections near the shoreline are present, so scout the lineup before paddling out and stay aware of your positioning when the sets push through.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekdays the lineup is empty. Summer months, January and February, bring the biggest crowds, though even then you are talking about ten or so surfers in the water. The vibe is consistently friendly and the atmosphere social. No localism pressure reported.

Access & Facilities

Head to the Moche area in Trujillo and follow signs toward Las Delicias beach. The beach is semi-private but public access is permitted. Facilities are minimal, so bring your own water and food. The surrounding area has local spots for a cold Pilsen Trujillo after the session.

Nearby Alternatives

Trujillo's coastline offers several beach and point options in the Huanchaco area to the north, where longer rides and more consistent swells can be found when Las Delicias is too small. When size picks up across the region, the breaks around Moche district offer alternative peaks worth exploring.
