Right · ReefIntermediate → Advanced5–10 ftJan – Dec

A powerful, consistent right-hander south of Safi that picks up North Atlantic swell reliably, despite an unglamorous setting directly in front of an active industrial factory. NW, WNW, and W swells are the ticket, with east winds keeping faces clean. Low to medium tide is optimal. The reef produces long walls with barreling sections and open faces for turns, suited to intermediate through advanced surfers. A handful of locals surf it on weekends but crowds stay light, partly because the factory setting puts off visiting surfers. Bottom: rock reef. Season: fall through winter. Consistency: solid when the North Atlantic storm track fires. Bring a decent step-up if you expect overhead-plus surf, and pack earplugs if factory noise bothers you. Water quality is fair at best given the industrial proximity, so skip it if there's been recent rain or visible discharge.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Locals are welcoming and share the lineup without aggression. Weekend mornings see a few regulars but it stays far less crowded than better-known Moroccan reefs, largely because the factory setting filters out casual visitors. Show respect, observe the lineup before paddling out, and you'll be fine.

Access & Facilities

Follow the coast south from Safi until the factory is unmissable. Dirt parking lot right in front. No facilities on site. Stay in Safi to access food, water, and accommodation, and use the drive south to check conditions along the coast. The factory smell is real and persistent.

Nearby Alternatives

Safi itself has town break options when this spot isn't cooperating. The coastline further south reportedly holds quality reefs on cleaner days, though those are best discovered locally rather than researched in advance.
