A long righthand wall peeling over submerged boulders on the outside defines Sidi Ifni, a multi-break setup on Morocco's southern Atlantic coast roughly 200km south of Taghazout. The main peak picks up SW through N swells and works best with a SE offshore, firing across all tides in the 2-8ft range before maxing out around 10ft. The crowd is manageable compared to the Taghazout circus, though weekends bring more heads to the lineup. Bottom: submerged reef and beach. Season: Oct-Mar. Consistency: high. One hard warning: when the river mouth is running, raw sewage enters the water directly and the pollution is serious enough to make you ill, so smell and assess before paddling out.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Sidi Ifni sits far enough south that it escapes the worst of Morocco's surf-tourist pressure. Locals are consistently described as welcoming. Weekends pull a crowd, and the main peak can get busy when the swell is pumping. Respect the culture, keep it low-key, and the vibe stays positive.

Access & Facilities

Drive south from Taghazout through Tiznit, approximately 200km total. Signs point into town. Free campervan and car parking sits above the beach on the cliffs south of town, with a cheap campsite nearby. No major facilities beyond basics. The river mouth outflow brings raw sewage into the lineup when flowing heavily. Rip currents strengthen around tidal changes and when river discharge is high.

Nearby Alternatives

The harbour right two kilometres south is worth checking when the main beach is crowded or blown out. Further afield, the regional editorials network references a reliable left setup accessible by 2WD to the north, and several undeveloped beach setups along this stretch of coast reward exploratory driving when conditions don't suit the main town break.
