Killers earns its name: a long, powerful right point at the heart of Taghazout that opens up to every serious NW, WNW, and W swell the North Atlantic throws at Morocco. Works best from head-high to triple overhead on NW to WNW groundswell, with N to NE offshores holding the face clean. Low to mid tide is the move. This is intermediate-to-advanced territory minimum, and on bigger days the long paddle from a rocky beach plus a heavy current make it a serious physical commitment before you even catch a wave. Bottom: rocky point with sand. Season: October through March. Consistency: reliable when the North Atlantic storm track activates. One honest warning: the paddle-out on big swells is exhausting, sharks are in the hazard list, and the lineup is competitive. Come fit, come prepared, and read the current before committing.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The lineup is heavy and competitive, but the long paddle and serious surf act as a natural filter. Weekdays can be empty, weekends draw a few more surfers. Localism is described as doable but the vibe is serious. Read the pecking order, wait your turn, and don't snake. Kooks will not be tolerated.

Access & Facilities

Visible from the cliff top at Mysteries and from the main highway above Taghazout. The beach is sharp and rocky. It sits next to Sixty Nines. No soft-sand entry here. The current runs hard on big days, so scout from above before paddling out. Water is clean but not exceptional.

Nearby Alternatives

When Killers is maxed out or too heavy, Anchor Point a short distance away offers more structured lines on the same swell. Mysteries, visible from the same clifftop, can be a useful read on conditions and works on slightly different angles.
