A high-consistency beachbreak sitting at the mouth of the Oued Haouzia, just north of Azemour on Morocco's Atlantic coast, this stretch produces punchy peaks that work reliably across a wide swell and wind window. Best from W through N swells at 1-6ft, it fires most cleanly at low to mid tide with SE offshores shaping things up. The wave suits beginners and intermediate surfers looking for mellow, uncrowded sessions away from the busier El Jadida scene. A lifeguard is on duty in season, adding a layer of safety for less experienced water users. Bottom: sand. Season: autumn through spring. Consistency: high. The rivermouth to the north pulls estuary runoff into the lineup after rain, so check water clarity before paddling out and position yourself on the cleaner central or southern peaks.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

This stretch rarely draws crowds. The relative lack of facilities and distance from major surf tourism infrastructure keeps numbers low. Respect the local kids who surf here regularly and give way at the busier peaks if a session happens to overlap with a surf school.

Access & Facilities

There is no dedicated parking, so plan accordingly. A lifeguard operates during peak season. The nearest services, food, and supplies are in Azemour or El Jadida. Avoid the rivermouth section, particularly after rainfall, due to estuary pollution from agricultural runoff upstream.

Nearby Alternatives

El Jadida's Deauville beach sits a short drive north and offers wind-sheltered peaks when conditions are marginal elsewhere. South of El Jadida, a rock and sand righthander is worth checking if the beachbreak is blown out.
