Morocco's most celebrated left-hander wraps around a rocky point roughly 40 minutes south of Casablanca's Anfa neighbourhood, offering cut-back sections and genuine length on a solid NW or WNW swell. Works best on S to SE winds, low tide, and a head-high to double-overhead window where the wave steepens off the rocks and runs with real purpose. Too much tide and it goes flat and fat, too little swell and it barely fires. Intermediate to advanced surfers will find rippable sections when conditions align, but weekends pull a competitive local pack and the crowd spreads only as size pushes toward the upper range. Bottom: sharp rock reef and point. Season: autumn into winter as the North Atlantic storm track activates. Consistency: medium. Bring hard-sole booties for the rocky entry and sharp reef, and time your jump off the point carefully at low tide.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The local pack is small but competitive. Weekends bring noticeably more pressure, easing off as swell size increases and the lineup spreads. Localism is described as doable but respect the hierarchy. Dawn sessions on weekdays during peak swell season are your best shot at a manageable crowd.

Access & Facilities

A marked turn-off makes the break easy to find. Parking is limited to a dirt area within sight of the wave. No formal facilities on site. The entry involves jumping off sharp rocks at the top of the point, so judge the timing carefully at low tide. Hard-sole booties are strongly advisable given the sharp rocks and sea urchins. Water quality is noted as not great.

Nearby Alternatives

If the tide is too full or the swell too small, Jack Beach a mile further down the coast offers a mile-long stretch of beachbreak and rock shelf peaks that picks up smaller swells. North of Casablanca, the Rabat-Salé coastline has a range of beachbreaks and point options worth checking when the swell direction doesn't suit Dar Bouazza.
