A long right-hand point wall breaking over boulder rock, Boats Point sits near Sidi Ifni on Morocco's SW-facing Atlantic coast and is one of the region's most secretive setups. It needs a solid SW to NW swell in the 2-8ft range, with SE winds keeping it clean and all tides reportedly workable. The approach is strictly 4x4 terrain across rough dirt tracks, and the break is genuinely hard to locate even with good maps. A pair of shipwrecks near a creek serve as the landmark, but finding the lineup still demands local knowledge or serious exploration. Two secondary lefts complement the main right, adding variety when conditions align. Bottom: boulder reef. Season: Oct-Mar primary window. Consistency: medium. Arrive prepared to camp or self-support. There are zero facilities at the break itself, so carry your own water, food, and basic first aid.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

This is one of the emptiest setups on the Moroccan Atlantic coast. The access difficulty filters out most surfers, and crowds are rare. That said, the remoteness cuts both ways: if something goes wrong in the water, help is a long way off. Treat the surrounding area and any local community with respect.

Access & Facilities

Reach via rough 4x4 tracks from Sidi Ifni. No facilities whatsoever: no water, no food, no rentals. Navigate by the two shipwrecks near the creek mouth that mark the general zone. Come fully self-sufficient with emergency supplies. Mobile signal will likely be minimal or absent.

Nearby Alternatives

Sidi Ifni itself has accessible beachbreaks and point setups worth checking when the 4x4 tracks to Boats Point are too rough or wet. Desert Point, another right-hand point further into the desert, is a documented alternative if you have the navigation skills and vehicle for deeper exploration.
