Morocco's most celebrated right-hand point delivers 200-500m rides along a rocky shelf north of Taghazout, roughly 20km north of Agadir. A medium-to-large, long-period NW, WNW, or W swell is the trigger, with NE offshores grooming the face and low-to-mid tide keeping sections honest. Size range is broad: it starts producing at 3-5ft and holds well past 16ft, though the line-up becomes a serious commitment above head-high. Intermediates can manage smaller swells, but locals take a dim view of out-of-depth surfers blocking the complex line-up on bigger days. Bottom: rocky point. Season: October through March. Consistency: medium, but when it's on, it delivers. Arrive at dawn to beat the heaviest crowd pressure, and study the exit before you paddle out because getting back in through the rocks demands a plan.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

This is Morocco's most crowded wave and it earns the title. Expect a packed line-up on any decent swell, especially in peak winter months and on smaller, manageable days. Locals are skilled and protective of their home break. Surf with patience, take your turn, and do not paddle around the pack. Being out of your ability level here draws real social consequences.

Access & Facilities

The point sits just north of Taghazout village. Free parking is available roadside. Basic camping options exist in the area. Paddle-out and return through the rocks is genuinely gnarly, use the coves to come in and walk back to the tip between sets rather than fighting the rocks on entry and exit. Water quality is fair, residential run-off is a factor.

Nearby Alternatives

When Anchor Point is blown out or maxed, Killers is the most consistent Taghazout point and sucks up available swell in a slightly different window. Spiders offers a heavier, faster barrel option for advanced surfers nearby. If the whole Taghazout cluster is flat, Tamri, about 50km north, is worth the drive.
