A right-hand pointbreak delivering hollow, fast, powerful walls along a stretch of Central Argentina's Atlantic coast, spot fires best on SE swell with NW offshore winds at low tide. The swell window runs NE through S, with the wave holding from 3ft up to 6ft-plus before things get consequential. Low tide is non-negotiable: higher water pushes the ride onto rocks. Crowds are manageable on weekdays, sometimes heavier on weekends, though the lineup empties out more than you'd expect for a wave this good. Bottom: rock/point. Season: consistent through autumn and winter months. Consistency: medium. Bring a step-up for bigger swells and arrive early on weekends to get sets without the shoulder-tap. The paddle-out exceeds 20 minutes, so read the channel carefully before committing and budget time for the walk back.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekends can draw a crowd, though the access requirements, cliff walk plus a paddle exceeding 20 minutes, thin the lineup naturally. Weekday sessions are often empty. The wave is rated expert-only, so the crowd that does show up knows what it's doing. Respect the lineup order and paddle wide on the way out.

Access & Facilities

Reach the spot by car, then a walk to the cliff edge and a long paddle, over 20 minutes, to the lineup. No facilities on site, no parking fees, and public access is confirmed. Bring water, food, and everything you need before you leave the car. Some residential development nearby means occasional pollution after heavy rain. Watch the rocks on the inside at all stages of tide.

Nearby Alternatives

When spot is flat or the tide is wrong, Cabo Corrientes offers pointbreak rights a short distance up the coast, though a jetty has altered its former glory. Playa Grande in Mar del Plata is the region's most consistent beachbreak option and suits a wider range of conditions and skill levels.
