A flat arc of curved reef on Fuerteventura's north coast, Rocky Point (also known as Punta Elena) wakes up properly when big NW swells roll in along the North Track. SW or S winds keep the face clean, and the break works across all tides over a wide shelf of rocky reef. Best size runs from waist-high to overhead, though the place genuinely comes alive at 4-6ft and above when longer rides open up. Intermediates and experienced surfers own the better conditions, but beginners and the growing longboard crew show up whenever it breaks small. Bottom: rocky reef. Season: October to March. Consistency: moderate, swell-dependent. When it's good, expect a crowd, especially weekends. Bring a board quiver if you can: the wave shifts character significantly with size, from mellow longboard walls to fast hollow sections that punish hesitation on the inside.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekdays see a lighter lineup, weekends get busy when any swell arrives. Localism is described as doable and generally chilled, but the spot draws a mix of skill levels, beginners to experienced, which creates its own friction at peak times. Dawn patrol significantly improves your odds of uncrowded sets.

Access & Facilities

Street parking nearby off the north coast road, a short drive from Eagal Bay. Easy paddle out via a deep channel. Don't leave valuables in the car. Water quality is generally clean, though proximity to the harbour warrants awareness after heavy rain.

Nearby Alternatives

When Rocky Point is either too small or maxed out, the broader Corralejo area has beach breaks that handle different swell windows. Lobos channel swell patterns also influence nearby options worth exploring on a flat day at Punta Elena.
