A punchy beachbreak on Fuerteventura's southwest coast, La Pared delivers short, hollow a-frame peaks into an often-empty lineup. NE to E swells wrap into the bay and hit the sandbanks, producing quick left and right sections that reward surfers who can read fast-moving peaks. SE winds blow offshore here, cleaning up the face, but the wave needs enough swell to avoid closing out into a shoredump. Consistent at 3-6ft, it tops out around 6ft before getting messy. Intermediate surfers will find plenty to work with on a solid swell day, and the low crowd count is a genuine draw for those staying in the Fuerteventura south. That said, strong rip currents run through the bay at all times, rocks lurk on the north side of the beach, and the channel moves fast enough to catch out confident surfers. Bottom: sand. Season: Oct-Feb. Consistency: medium. Speak to locals before paddling out, especially if it's your first visit.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Lineups here are usually quiet, sometimes just you and a handful of others, even on good days. Locals are relaxed as long as respect is reciprocated. Introduce yourself, don't snake, and ask if you're unsure about hazards. The strong rip and rocky north section filter out inexperienced surfers naturally.

Access & Facilities

From Costa Calma, take a taxi or drive to La Pared village. There is free parking near the beach. No facilities on site, so bring water and food. The area has no surf rentals or shops nearby. The currents here are the primary hazard, do not underestimate them regardless of your experience level.

Nearby Alternatives

When La Pared is closing out or the swell is too small, the north shore of Fuerteventura offers more consistent and higher-quality options at spots like Majanicho and Corralejo. The north coast picks up far more swell and is worth the drive when conditions are marginal in the south.
