A long, right-hand reef wall peeling along the eastern edge of a small natural harbour on Fuerteventura's north coast, Majanicho picks up W and NW groundswell and bends it into a fat, rolling wall that can connect from the outside peak through to the inside on bigger days. Best with SE winds keeping it clean, it handles waist-high to overhead-plus and works across all tides, though the low-tide left nearby gets hollow and sharper when size arrives. The long paddle out to the peak deters some, which helps keep the lineup manageable except when it's small and fun, when SUPers, longboarders, and beginners pack in. Jagged reef with shallow sections rewards board control and patience over aggression. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: December to February peak, but consistent enough year-round on north swells. Consistency: high. Arrive early to claim space before the SUP fleet dominates the channel, and carry a longer board to maximise the walls.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Localism is relaxed by Canary Islands standards, but moderate crowd pressure is real when conditions are good and small. SUPs and longboards dominate the peak on smaller days, making positioning essential for shortboarders. Weekends bring more bodies. Dawn patrol before the wind fills in is the most effective strategy.

Access & Facilities

Drive the northern coastal track between Corralejo and El Cotillo and turn seaward at Majanicho village. Free parking on the headland. Paddle out through the deep channel rather than across the reef. No facilities on site, so bring water. Watch for urchins on the reef edges and rips on bigger swells when currents through the bay strengthen.

Nearby Alternatives

When Majanicho is maxed out or too crowded, the reefs further west toward El Cotillo offer more shelter and varying swell exposure. On smaller, clean days the beachbreaks around Corralejo to the east pick up windswell and provide a more accessible session.
