A long reeling right-hand point peeling down the flank of a dormant volcano on the small uninhabited island of Los Lobos, roughly 1.5km off Fuerteventura's northeast tip. N and NW swells are the engine here, with E to ESE winds blowing offshore and the wave working across all tides. Below 4ft it breaks in sectioney chunks, but push it to 6ft and above and three distinct tube sections link into a single rifling wall running 300-500m down shallow lava reef. Access is ferry-only from Corralejo harbour, with departures mid-morning and last return around 16:30, so your surf window is fixed. Because it fires only on medium consistency, every good day packs the lineup hard. Bring your own water and food, factor in a 20-minute hike from the port across volcanic rock, and treat the ultra-sharp urchin-covered reef with serious respect. Bottom: lava reef. Season: Oct-Apr. Consistency: medium.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Because Los Lobos is medium consistency and demands a committed journey, every firing day concentrates a large crew onto a single takeoff zone. The local contingent is competitive and knows the wave far better than visiting surfers. Respect priority, don't snake, and understand that the isolation makes aggressive paddling the norm here, not the exception.

Access & Facilities

Ferry from Corralejo harbour, roughly 15-20 minutes crossing. Departures mid-morning, last return around 16:30. No shops, no food, no water on the island. Paddle out off the rocks after a 20-minute hike from the port. The lava reef is ultra-sharp and the bottom is carpeted with urchins, so reef booties are worth considering and treating any cuts quickly is essential.

Nearby Alternatives

When Los Lobos is too big or the ferry isn't running, Corralejo's beachbreaks and Rocky Point on Fuerteventura's north coast absorb the same swells. Las Salinas activates on the biggest NW swells when the north coast maxes out and offers a different take on the same pulse.
