A wide-open beachbreak on the north coast of Gran Canaria, Los Enanos delivers defined lefts at the west end of Playa de San Andres with fast, whackable walls that work reliably from under 1m up to 2m-plus. It catches virtually any pulse from W through to E wind swell, making it the go-to option when spots like La Cicer go flat. Offshore in southerly winds, it works best at low to mid tide when the banks have shape. With five or six distinct peaks spread across the beach, the crowd distributes itself reasonably even though numbers can get heavy on weekends. Intermediates and confident beginners will enjoy the approachable walls. Bottom: sand. Season: spring through summer. Consistency: high. Arrive early on weekends or during summer school holidays to secure a peak before the Las Palmas contingent shows up.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Localism is light and the vibe is friendly, but Los Enanos is legitimately popular. Weekends and summer afternoons bring ultra-crowded conditions as Las Palmas surfers migrate here when their home breaks go flat. Multiple peaks help spread the pack, but the best-shaped west-end left draws a predictable cluster.

Access & Facilities

The beach sits along the main north coast highway, easy to spot from the road. Free parking is available. No facilities on site, so bring water and sunscreen. The area is pleasantly undeveloped. No notable water quality issues or hazards reported.

Nearby Alternatives

When Los Enanos is maxed out or too crowded, La Cicer back in Las Palmas can fire on similar swells with a more structured peak. On larger NW swells, spots further along the north coast of Gran Canaria offer more powerful options for intermediate to advanced surfers.
