A fast, hollow right-hand reef that only switches on a few times a year when big NW swells wrap around Fuerteventura's southern tip and max out everything to the north. Optimal conditions demand W to NW swell at 5-12ft with NE winds going offshore, it functions at most tides but gets dangerously shallow at low. This is an expert-only wave: shallow reef, aggressive rip currents, and sea urchins throughout the lineup make it genuinely punishing when it's on. Weekend sessions attract local crews who know the wave well, so respect is non-negotiable. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: autumn through winter NW groundswells. Consistency: low, working only a handful of times per season. Pack water, leave valuables in the car, and be ready for a walk from the nearest parking to the lineup.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The local crew here knows their wave and has earned priority. Weekend sessions bring out more surfers but numbers stay modest given the spot's remote location and inconsistency. Show respect in the lineup, don't snake sets, and the vibe stays manageable. Dawn patrol on a weekday is your best move when a swell hits.

Access & Facilities

No facilities at the break itself. Free parking is available nearby, but expect a walk to the lineup. Bring your own water and snacks since there's nothing close once you leave the car. Rip currents have pulled swimmers into trouble here, so never surf alone. Urchins are present on the reef, so booties are worth considering.

Nearby Alternatives

When Salinas is flat or too big to ride, the beachbreaks around Correlejo to the north pick up any NW swell and offer far more forgiving conditions. The right-hander at Lobos island fires in similar NW swells and is a must-check if you're already in the area.
