A long, mellow wall that rewards patience and positioning, Generosa sits tucked inside a bay on the Canary Islands, shielded by a hill from the prevailing westerly winds. It fires best on NE swell in the 3-8ft range, with SW offshore winds keeping faces clean and lined up. All tides work, though it can back off noticeably at high tide, softening what limited punch it has. The wave suits intermediates and longboarders well, offering rides up to 200-500m when conditions align, but the consistency and user-friendliness draw regular crowds so expect a busy lineup most sessions. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: autumn through spring. Consistency: high. Park at the carpark, spot the cars lined up, and climb down to the centre of the bay. Cliffs to the east block that access route entirely, so don't waste time scouting that side.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The combination of high consistency, easy access, and forgiving wave character means Generosa pulls crowds regularly. Expect company on almost every rideable day. Dawn patrol is your best window for elbow room. The wave's length means there are multiple peaks and sections, which spreads things out, but locals know this spot well.

Access & Facilities

Park in the carpark and climb down the centre of the bay. Cliffs to the east cut off that approach entirely. No facilities on site, so bring water and snacks. The spot sits close to the road, making it easy to check before paddling out.

Nearby Alternatives

When Generosa is overcrowded or the NE swell isn't cooperating, the north coast offers more exposed reef and point options that come alive on bigger swells. If the north coast is maxed out, check the bay off Corralejo where peaks break further offshore with more room.
