A reef break on Gran Canaria's south coast that delivers punchy rights with the occasional left, set against the backdrop of an abandoned cement factory that gives the lineup an unmistakable industrial atmosphere. SW to NW swells in the 3-8ft range are the sweet spot, with offshore winds most reliable in the early morning before the afternoon sea breeze kicks in and chops things up. Tides are forgiving here and the wave works across the full cycle, though mid-tide tends to smooth out the transitions between sections. The crowd dynamic is real: weekdays can be mellow with a handful of regulars, but when a quality swell hits, expect up to 30-plus surfers in a tight lineup where locals set the pecking order. Bottom: reef. Season: winter peak, summer secondary. Consistency: moderate to good. Dawn patrol sessions are the move here, especially mid-week, to catch glassy conditions before both the wind and the crowds build.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Do not underestimate the crowd here. A pumping swell pulls locals fast, and 30-plus surfers in a short-ride reef lineup is tight by any measure. Weekends are consistently busier. Locals hold priority on the better sets. Respect the hierarchy, wait your turn, and don't paddle around people on a short-ride spot.

Access & Facilities

Drive the GC-1 south toward Mogán and exit at Arguineguín. Follow the road down toward the waterfront and the spot is straightforward to locate near the old cement factory. Parking is available in the town. Amenities, food, and water are close by in the village.
