Large car parks off Ave des Dunes behind the north beach make access straightforward. Lifeguards patrol in summer, which helps manage the drift risk for less experienced swimmers and surfers. Camping Les Sablères is nearby for extended stays. Water quality is clean.
When Vieux Boucau's banks are blown out or flat, Messanges to the north offers similar beachbreak geometry with slightly different swell exposure. Hossegor and Capbreton to the south deliver more power and more hollow waves when size is up, though the crowds scale accordingly.
