Long Beach's most popular peak sits next to a jetty that helps organize sand into a reliable left-hander, while the rest of the barrier island stays in flux around shifting bars. SE to ESE swell is the main fuel, with E swell also working. NNW to NNE wind cleans it up. Best from waist-high to well overhead at low-to-mid tide, when the lefts off the jetty rope and push with real pace. Open to all skill levels but weekends draw a serious crowd, so dial in your etiquette before paddling out. Bottom: sand with jetty structure. Season: September through March. Consistency: moderate to good through fall and winter. Dawn patrol on a weekday autumn swell is the move here, especially when the rest of Long Island's bars are scrambled and Lincoln's jetty is doing the organizing work for you.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

This is Long Beach's main event and it shows. Weekdays are moderate, weekends in summer push to ultra-crowded. Locals are present but the vibe is described as mellow to moderate, not territorial. Respect the rotation on the lefts and you'll be fine. Arrive early, especially September through November when the swell quality spikes.

Access & Facilities

Street parking surrounds the area. Long Beach is a dense residential beach town with boardwalk amenities, food, and surf shops nearby. Water quality is generally clean. Watch groins and rip currents, particularly on bigger swells when the current alongside the jetty can run hard.

Nearby Alternatives

Long Beach has jetty peaks spaced roughly every quarter-mile along the barrier island, so if Lincoln is maxed out or too packed, walk the sand and look for a bar that's firing with fewer bodies on it. On larger, more powerful swells, spots further east toward Jones Beach or west toward the Rockaways offer different exposures and crowd splits.
