A tide-sensitive beachbreak on the border of St Lunaire and St Briac, Longchamps picks up W to NW swells funnelled into the southern edge of the Mont St Michel bay. Spring tides are essential: a rising spring tide jacks up wave height and allows swell to push far enough into the bay to produce anything worth riding. Offshore winds are southerly, and the wave favours rights. At its best it delivers short punchy walls, sometimes hollow on good banks, on ordinary days expect soft, onshore mushburgers running less than 50m. Suits beginners and intermediates looking for uncrowded, low-pressure sessions. Bottom: beach. Season: Sep to Mar. Consistency: medium. Don't paddle out during high summer without checking the sailboat access channel, and watch for aggressive seagulls on the beach.

Parking is available off the coastal road at the break. Camping is nearby. No notable pollution or hazards. The spot sits right on the St Lunaire and St Briac boundary.
A five-minute drive reaches the Garde-Guerin reefs, which add more punch over scattered rock sections on a moderate W swell with any S wind offshore. Worth checking both before the tide reaches peak. Dame Jouanne ledge, on the western headland, is a consequence-heavy low-tide slab for expert surfers only.
