Itacaré's most consistent beachbreak delivers barreling lefts and rights on shifting sand banks just a 10-minute walk from downtown. E-SE swell at 2-8ft with a W offshore wind is the sweet spot, and the beach picks up everything from NE through S, meaning it rarely goes flat. Intermediate to advanced surfers dominate the lineup, and on weekends or during small, clean swells the crowd packs in hard. Bottom: sand. Season: year-round, best in fall and winter. Consistency: high. Arrive at dawn on a weekday to beat the local groms and contest crew who treat this beach as their home turf.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

This is the competition beach for Itacaré, hosting regional and state events year-round. Locals are skilled and territorial on their home banks, but the vibe is generally cool rather than aggressive. Drop-ins will end the goodwill fast. Dawn patrol on a weekday is the standard move for any visiting surfer.

Access & Facilities

Easy walk from the town center following signs to the beach. Car park available. Lifeguards on duty. Food, water, and accommodation within walking distance. Water quality is fairly clean with some residential run-off to be aware of after heavy rain.

Nearby Alternatives

When Tiririca maxes out or crowds are unbearable, Ribeira offers mellower high-tide waves for intermediates. For advanced surfers wanting longer rides, Boca da Barra is a super-long fun righthander worth the extra effort.
