A remote rivermouth beachbreak near Itacaré, Bahia, Jeribucaçu rewards the effort of a 9km drive plus a 20-30 minute walk with genuinely low crowd pressure and consistent peaks across a wide swell window. It works from NE through S swells, handles all tides, and the offshore is westerly. Wave faces range from small crumbly walls at 1-3ft to lined-up A-frame triangles pushing 6-8ft, with a natural paddling channel at the south end making entry manageable. Beginners and intermediates will find it approachable in smaller surf, though power picks up noticeably at size. Bottom: beach. Season: year-round, medium consistency. The walk filters the crowd reliably, but bring all your own water and food as there are no facilities on the beach.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The combination of a 9km road and a 20-30 minute walk keeps this beach genuinely low-pressure even on weekends. Expect few surfers on a typical day. The vibe in the water is generally relaxed as a result. Respect the effort others made to get here.

Access & Facilities

Drive from Itacaré, then walk roughly 20-30 minutes to the beach. Parking is free at the trailhead. There are zero facilities at the break, so carry water, snacks, and sunscreen. No surf rentals, no food, no shade structures.

Nearby Alternatives

If Jeribucaçu is too small or the walk feels long, Tiririca back in Itacaré offers regular barreling banks and is far easier to access. For a longer, more mellow ride, Boca da Barra is the region's standout righthander peeling across a sandbar.
