The beach strip has accommodation, seafood restaurants, and board rental options within walking distance. No serious hazards beyond the occasional longboard traffic in a packed lineup.
Weligama Bay, ten minutes west, is the go-to beginner option with even gentler waves and a wider beach. If you need more punch, Midigama and Lazy Left are both within thirty minutes east and offer reef setups that handle bigger swell with more shape.
