A long left pointbreak peeling over boulders at the entrance to Soller's commercial harbour, Puerto de Soller is one of Mallorca's more distinctive waves when it actually fires. It needs a solid W to NW swell, generally 4ft-plus, to push enough energy past the headland geometry. Offshore winds are easterly. All tides work, though the wave can shift character as the water moves. This is not a beginner spot and it is not a consistent one either: it breaks a handful of times per year at best, and the window closes fast once the swell drops. Bottom: boulders. Season: winter months only, Oct-Feb. Consistency: low. Arrive early when the swell is forecast, because when it does connect the lineup fills quickly despite the spot's rarity. Some commercial and residential pollution in the harbour area is worth noting, check conditions before getting in the water.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Because it breaks so rarely, the lineup is usually uncrowded. But when a proper swell arrives, local knowledge travels fast and the peak fills. No heavy localism reported, but the usual respect protocols apply: don't snake, learn the peak, and give credit to those who waited weeks for this swell. Avoiding weekends during a swell event helps.

Access & Facilities

The break sits near the commercial port at Puerto de Soller. Free parking is available but do not park immediately adjacent to the tourist train route: it runs regularly and blocking it creates problems. No surf-specific facilities on site. Food, water, and accommodation are all within walking distance in the port village. Pollution levels can be elevated near the harbour, this is a known issue.

Nearby Alternatives

When Puerto de Soller is flat or blown out, the north coast of Mallorca picks up NE swells at spots that work in completely different windows. The south and southwest-facing beaches around Paguera and the Palma bay area activate on S to SW swells and can offer more consistent options if a different swell angle is running.
