Short, punchy right-hand point and beachbreak peaks sit at the northern tip of Menorca, firing up when Tramontana winds tear down from the north and push NE swell into the bay. Offshore winds are SE, and the spot works across all tides, though the right point tends to sharpen at mid tide. Optimal size is 2-6ft, much bigger and the beachbreak sections close out while the point gets messy. Intermediate surfers will find the main peak rewarding, but the lineup fills fast on any working swell day, with local riders claiming priority on the best waves. Bottom: submerged reef and sand mix. Season: autumn through early spring. Consistency: medium. Arrive early or position yourself on the secondary beachbreak peaks to actually get waves.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Overcrowding is a real issue here. On working swells, a tight crew of local intermediates and experienced riders will dominate the main peak. The vibe is generally friendly but territorial in the water. Respect drop-in rules, take turns, and don't paddle straight to the peak on your first session. The secondary beach peaks are a better entry point if you're new to the spot.

Access & Facilities

Free parking is available near the beach. There are no facilities on-site, so bring your own water and snacks. Seafood restaurants and some archaeological interest nearby add reason to make a day of it. Water quality is clean with no pollution concerns.

Nearby Alternatives

When Cavalleria is flat or blown out, look for other north-facing spots along Menorca's coast that catch the same Tramontana swell window. On smaller swells, seek out more sheltered beachbreaks on the south side of the island, which need stronger S-SW push to get going.
