Waist to head-high is the ideal range, mid tide the default, though low tide can produce better-shaped banks when the sand lines up. The atmosphere is welcoming and family-oriented, but the lineup fills quickly with surf schools, tourists, and beginners on bigger forecast days. Roadside parking sits directly adjacent to the beach, making access as straightforward as it gets. Peniche town is minutes away for food, water, and board rentals. The water holds Quercus Golden Quality certification, so quality is not a concern.
When Cerro goes flat or closes out, Supertubos is a short drive for hollow, powerful barrels suited to advanced surfers. Baleal, just north, offers multiple beach and point options across a wider skill range when the swell angle or bank conditions differ.
