A fast-pitching left-hand reef break off the Morro Negrito peninsula that delivers serious tube time when a solid S to SW swell fills in. Works best at lower tides when the reef shallows up and the wave throws hard over the exposed shelf, producing rides that can stretch well beyond 150m on a good day. Offshore NE winds groom the face and the swell window is generous enough that the spot fires regularly through the dry season. About a 20-minute walk south of the Morro Negrito surf camp keeps it genuinely quiet, even on weekends. You will rarely share it. Intermediate to advanced surfers only. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: March to October. Consistency: medium with occasional exceptional days. Shallow reef and fast sections catch out anyone who hesitates on the drop, so be ready to commit.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekend crowds are described as empty. The walk from the camp keeps the casual paddlers away. This is a genuine remote left with no localism pressure reported, but the wave is powerful enough that a respectful approach in the lineup goes a long way regardless.

Access & Facilities

Reach the Morro Negrito surf camp via Remedios. From camp it is a 20-minute walk south along the shore. No facilities at the break itself. Bring water and a packed lunch. Parking is restricted near the camp, so plan transfers accordingly. No water quality concerns reported.

Nearby Alternatives

If The Point is too small or the swell angle is off, the Sandbar rivermouth south of camp offers long, forgiving rides across all tides. For experts chasing short, explosive tubes, Nestles is a 10-minute paddle east of camp and picks up swell aggressively.
