A long sand-bottom point break half a kilometre north of Milagro, Tiburon delivers rides pushing 150 to 200-plus yards on a good southerly swell. It picks up any south-to-southwest swell direction and works from under 3ft all the way through overhead-plus, making it one of the more versatile setups on this stretch of Sinaloa coast. Mornings are typically glassy or offshore, onshore west-southwest winds arrive late morning to early afternoon, so an early start pays dividends. The point shape suits the full range of abilities, from beginners threading easy walls to advanced surfers linking sections across the length of the ride. Bottom: sand over rock. Season: south swell season, May through October. Consistency: reliable on the right swell. One honest heads-up: the break earned its name from a reported bull shark that has been known to approach surfers in the lineup, so solo sessions at dawn deserve an extra layer of situational awareness.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekdays see an empty lineup, weekends bring a handful of surfers at most. No notable localism reported. Given the low crowd pressure, the main lineup dynamic to manage is wave-count self-regulation on bigger sets, particularly when beginners and advanced surfers are sharing the same long ride.

Access & Facilities

Tiburon sits approximately 500m north of Milagro along the Sinaloa coast. Access is straightforward from the Milagro area. Facilities are minimal in the immediate area, so bring water and sun protection. The shark history is not marketing folklore, it is firsthand account, so surf with company where possible and be aware when sitting alone on the point waiting for sets.

Nearby Alternatives

Milagro itself sits just to the south and provides a reference point when Tiburon is not firing. Other Sinaloa point and beach setups along this coast can pick up similar south swell windows, worth scouting if the wind has already turned onshore at Tiburon by mid-morning.
