A reef pass left breaks 2km offshore at Natadola, bending out of deep water onto the reef with long walls and occasional tubes when the swell is in the 2-6ft range. Located on Fiji's Coral Coast, it needs S to W swell and NE winds to clean up, but the dominant SE trades are a persistent problem. Mid to high tide is the window, low tide exposes the reef walk and makes the paddle-out even more committed. This is not a casual surf check: reaching the peak requires a 1km-plus paddle across the lagoon, past a resort, through the shallows toward Lovo Island, with a low-tide reef walk that can eat up an hour of your day. Hire a boat for the commute out and back. The inside shorebreak handles bodysurfers and longboarders on big-swell days. Bottom: reef pass and beach. Season: May through October. Consistency: high when conditions align.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Rarely crowded, largely because the access commitment filters most surfers out. The resort setting means you will share the channel and beach with holidaymakers, but the lineup itself stays quiet. Respect the reef-walk route and don't shortcut through private resort grounds.

Access & Facilities

No parking and no surf facilities at the break itself. The access involves paddling 1km or more across the lagoon and a potential low-tide reef walk of up to an hour. Hiring a local boat out and back is the practical and safe option. Carry water. The resort at Natadola has food and drink for guests.

Nearby Alternatives

The Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park offers 5km of beachbreaks a short drive away when the wind kills the reef pass. Lulu's Bend has high-tide barrels at a deep bay entrance nearby. When swell is larger, check the waves at the entrance to Momi Bay.
