Ingleses delivers punchy, hollow beach-break peaks along one of Florianópolis Island's northern shores, roughly 25 minutes by car from the city center. East and SE swells are the primary drivers, with the left corner of the beach consistently catching both swell directions more reliably than the central stretch. Offshore winds from the W to SW clean things up, the break functions across all tides, though mid to lower tide tends to sharpen the hollow sections. Works from under 1ft and holds shape into the 6ft-plus range on bigger SE pulses. Suits all skill levels on small days, but the fast, powerful sections favor confident intermediates and up when size builds. Bottom: sand. Season: year-round, peaking with autumn and winter SE swells. Consistency: moderate to good. Weekdays offer a quieter lineup, weekends draw crowds, especially in summer.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekdays are mellow with few surfers. Summer weekends flip the script and the beach packs out. The left corner draws more attention once locals spread the word about a swell, so expect competition for the better peaks. Respect the established rotation and you will be fine.

Access & Facilities

Drive north from Florianópolis center, roughly 25 minutes. Parking is straightforward along the beachfront road. Food, water, and basic surf rentals are available in the Ingleses neighborhood. No major paddle-out hazard beyond shore dump on bigger swells. Rip currents can form along the beach, especially at size.

Nearby Alternatives

When Ingleses is maxed out or blown, Brava Beach a short drive away offers a different angle that can hold size better. Santinho, just north, also catches E swell and tends to be less crowded on busy weekends.
