A low-key stretch of sandbars and cobblestones just south of Rincon, Faria Beach punches above its weight as a summer beachbreak option on this stretch of the Ventura County coast. Small, peaky windswells from S through NW are the target here, with low to mid tide generally producing the cleanest shape. NE offshores tighten things up, but don't expect perfection: waves typically close out above head high, so the sweet spot is 1-4ft. Beginners and intermediates will find plenty of room to spread out, and the lineup rarely crowds. Bottom: beach with cobblestone. Season: summer. Consistency: medium. Stick to smaller, incoming swell days and leave the big-wave boards at home.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Faria draws a mellow, low-pressure crowd. RVs and campers are a permanent fixture along the old PCH pull-off, which gives the spot a relaxed, road-trip vibe. Rarely competitive, even on the better days. Standard lineup courtesy applies.

Access & Facilities

Park free along the old Pacific Coast Highway. Camping is available roadside and is popular with vanlifers and road trippers. No major facilities beyond the beach itself. Hazards are minimal, though cobblestones underfoot can catch you off guard on the entry and exit.

Nearby Alternatives

When Faria is closing out, Rincon is a short drive north and handles size far better. If crowds there are heavy, the beachbreak peaks scattered south toward Ventura offer similar small-wave alternatives with more room.
