A string of exposed points along the Baja Pacific coast, Punta Rosarito marks the southern anchor of the Seven Sisters stretch and delivers right-hand point waves when a solid NW or W swell pushes through. NW groundswell in the 4-8ft range is the sweet spot, with NW wind going offshore at most points along this section. Low tide tends to clean things up. South swells are completely blocked by Cedros Island offshore, so forget any late-spring south windows. The highway runs close to the coast here, meaning long weekends and holidays bring noticeably more company than you'd expect for such a remote-feeling stretch. Bottom: Rock with reef and sand sections. Season: September-February. Consistency: Moderate, swell-dependent. Bring a longer board option as backup because some points along this zone need real size to break at all.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The local vibe is welcoming and crowd pressure is generally mellow, but proximity to the highway means weekends and Mexican holidays see a real bump in numbers. Dawn patrol or mid-week sessions will reward patience. No heavy localism reported, but basic lineup respect applies.

Access & Facilities

Access is described as tricky and experience helps, so a capable vehicle matters. The highway proximity is a double edge: easier to reach than most Baja points, but that cuts both ways on busy weekends. Water quality is fair with occasional muck. The primary hazard here is a classic: never turn your back on the ocean. Sneaker sets along this exposed coast are a genuine risk.

Nearby Alternatives

Punta Rosalillita sits nearby in the same stretch and offers similar NW point surf under comparable conditions. If the exposed sections are blown out by afternoon winds, look north toward more sheltered points in the Seven Sisters zone that trade consistency for wind protection.
